PAINTING WEATHERBOARD HOMES

We specialize in painting and staining all types of weatherboard cladding including pine, cedar and fibre cement. We regularly paint new weatherboard installations and existing weatherboard homes. The key to problem free painting to weatherboards is proper preparation and product selection.

Paint colour selection is also an important factor when painting weatherboards. Most weatherboard manufacturers specify minimum Light Reflective Values (LRV's) as dark colours generate too much heat and cause premature deterioration of weatherboards including warping, cupping and bowing. Hence, colour selection is critical to ensuring your warranty remain current (for weatherboards still under a warranty) and for avoiding problems with your weatherboard cladding system. There is greater flexibility for colour choice with fibre cement weatherboards such as Linea Board and PBS Eterside as fibre cement is a more stable product that natural timber.

HOUSE WASHING

Before we paint any existing home, we wash it with specially formulated products to kill and remove dirt, mould, fungus, lichen, carbon, soot, grease, oil and plain old grime. Making sure the house is clean and free of contaminants will enable your new paint coating system to adhere properly. Importantly, our detergents are vegetation safe and will not harm children & pets.
